LONGO/LINCECUM TRADE WHIR

Postby macmillanben » Wed Mar 28, 2012 3:19 pm

Hey guys, I'm really trying to strengthen my third 3B position so I'm hoping I could get Longoria somehow. The trades I'm thinking about proposing are Aramis Ramirez/Starlin Castro(on my bench)/James Shields for Longo/Lincecum and if that doesn't work what do you guys think about David Wright/Castro/Shields for Longo/Lincecum?

So you have Aramis and Wright for your 3B? I think that is pretty strong already and not sure you need to try and get Longoria. I like the first trade for you but it might not be enough to get it done. Definitely worth offering up though. Don't love the second deal but it isn't bad. I just think you are giving up a little too much in that one but it would have a better chance of getting done so if that is your main goal, then do it.

I think you win the trade either way.

However my personal feelings are that lincecum is over rated. I think his edge of being young and new are gone. However he is still better than shields.

If you can pull off either one of those, it would be good for you. But I agree with Maud that with Wright and ARam, you probably are better off staying put, or moving one of those guys (probably have to be ARam since Wrights tweaked ab and lousy last few years will suppress his value) to improve somewhere else.
