Joey Votto 1st - Top 5 player IMO. Young and improving. You need to keep talent as well as bargains. Votto has a lot of talent.
Curtis Granderson 8th - Excellent bargain.
Michael Pineda 12th - Good bargain.
CC Sabathia 3rd - Figure that he has to land in the top 30 to justify keeping. Won't likely live up to this, but if in a pitching heavy league he could be okay.
Eric Hosmer 5th - Has to finish in the top 50. Unlikely but he could break out.
Brett Lawrie 6th - Has to finish in the top 60. Unlikely but he could break out.
I would probably keep Lawrie as the last guy. Sabathia isn't likely to return enough for the 3rd round pick investment. Both Hosmer and Lawrie are gambles, not sure things. With Lawrie having a slightly lower keeper price he would be my choice.
You could go with Hanley Ramirez, but I'd much rather have another player in the 11-20 range. Unless you can use him as a 1st round pick and bump Votto to a 2nd round pick (which would let you keep Votto as a 2nd round pick for a long time).
We get to keep these players for as long as we want and the above value will stay the same.
If rebuilding, then I would keep BOTH Lawrie and Hosmer. In 2-3 years they could be insanely valuable at those rounds. Bump Pineda off the list.
