You guys are probably getting sick of my questions but I'm quite new to FB. Thanks for your help. Here's my question.
I receive: Heyward, Valverde, Cueto. He receives: ARod
I need a closer. I don't want to put too much into it because it's only one stat but my only closer is Jim Johnson now b/c I Lost Madson for the season. Should I pull the trigger on this trade or ask for more? I'd love to get McCann and Velverde (possibly Heyward too) for ARod and Avila but he wants to keep the catchers out of the deal. Should I focus that much on Saves? Or keep a possible 30/100 guy in ARod?
Me: C A. Avila 1B Konerko 2B Pedroia 3B A. Rodriguez SS. A. Cabrera OF McCutchen OF Adam Jones OF Drew Stubbs Util Markakis Util Goldschmidt BN Trumbo BN Soriano

Him: C B. McCann 1B A. Gonzalez 2B H. Kendrick 3B D. Valencia SS E. Andrus OF M. Kemp OF G. Stanton OF J. Hamilton Util J. Heyward Util D. Young BN A. Pagan BN P. Polanco
SP CC Sabathia SP Y. Gallardo SP G. Gonzalez RP J. Axford RP J. Valverde P M. Garza P J. Cueto BN D. Fister BN J. Nathan
He offered Valverde and Someone else for ARod. What should I offer him that is fair but will also help my team? I obviously need closer help. Much appreciated!
I would take that deal any day. ARod is declining although he has really worked hard this spring. He will be LUCKY to get to 30/100 in my opinion. I Love Heyward's upside and Valverde is a top closer. Cueto is a nice throw in too. Take it.
I don't love the deal mostly because I don't like what you will be left with at 3B. Unless I am missing something, Trumbo will be your 3B but he doesn't have eligibility there yet so you will go at least a week or two before you can play someone. If you can get that figured out, then i am all for it.

I like this trade for you. Heyward could very easily match and surpass Rodriguez' numbers this year, and then Valverde and Cueto would be just gravy on top. This is a great trade for you since you have some question marks at RP already. I'd pull the trigger now.

Definitely my big question. What If I have him throw in Valencia until Trumbo becomes eligible?
i like the deal but the only thing that is in the back of my mind is look what the surgery did for kobe? what if it actually works and arod puts up .300/40/110 line?

Haha see now you got me freaking out. Chances are, coming back from surgery he wont be at top form this season. He's old. I forgot to mention this is a keeper league where each team keeps 3 guys. Dont know if that changes much. The combination of Heyward, Valencia from last seasons stats would surpass 100 RBI and 25+ homers. I'd pretty much be banking on Trumbo to start at third and do well.

Yup. At a glance the deal seems poor, but it's actually solid value for a declining talent.
