5x5 non-keeper 12 teams

I grabbed him this year in round 16 as my 1B since I missed out on the top tier guys. Why is this guy so underappreciated when his numbers were pretty solid across the board (no flashy in any area but not hurting you in any either). Are there guys I should be targeting over him (Goldschmidt, Ike Davies, etc.) or is Butler the more "safer" choice?

Butler is fine if he's a 1B. I don't like him as UT only.

Butler's a rock solid play at 1B. The reason a lot of people overlook him is you know exactly what you're getting with Butler. Probably 16-20 Home runs, around 90 RBIs. A very safe choice. He doesn't have the upside of a Goldschmidt, Ike Davis, Freddy Freeman, etc. You could do much worse at 1B, IMO.

I love Butler as a 1B some are down on him in leagues where he is only a UTIL. If he has 1B eligibility I think he is a great guy to have

I think he is about to have a power surge and jump up the board. There are a few reason why people don't love Butler: Util only in some leagues, not prototypical power from a 1B, already have a 1B and want/need something else. Great pick for you though.
