Jansen or Arenado? WHIR

Postby TitanFan07 » Tue Mar 27, 2012 10:47 am

My league (12 teams, h2h, 5 bench spots) instituted a rule where you can keep any two players drafted after round 15 or picked up prior to the season and kept on your roster for the whole year.

The way I built my team I have an extra bench spot that isn't really needed. My question is if it's better using that spot on Nolan Arenado or Kenley Jansen? You can keep a player for a total of 3 years.

Thanks. WHIR

Arendado.

I don't like keeping relief pitchers that will only become valuable if they get the closer role. The list of "future closer" that never actually became a closer is very long. I would rather keep the position player that will be valuable when he gets called up.

Jansen could get 100 K's in relief, plus adds good whip and era.
He is better then some SP who barely get 100 K's with high whip and era.
I like Arenado, but Jansen is a stud now.

This is what happens when I don't play in leagues where RP don't have much value unless they close. So I would change my vote and take Jansen.
