numbers dont lie...
The numbers you say matter, do lie. You have to look deeper. Wins are really team dependent. You can't chase wins, because run support, defense, bullpen, play such a huge role. ERA can be misleading. Ever hear of babip? strand rate? hr/fb ratio? The stats that mater are K/9, K/BB. You won't find person who thinks Jurrjens is better then Gio.
k/9 is one of the most over ratting stats in sports. D.lowe prolly had a 2 k/9 ratio but year after year got you 15 wins not matter what and their are tons of pitchers like that. WINS are really the only stat that matters by the way!
Babip is one of the most misleading stats in baseball, it is very hard to maintain year after year. strand rate reflects on your ERA
but im sure these 2 will match up durring the year and really get to prove who the better is.

Wins are the only stat that matters? You are unbelievable. I can see you don't want to open up to learning some things. I'm done here, take Jurrjens, just don't give advice that he's better then Gio, because it's not even close.

Give me Gio. I had Jurrjens last year and loved it but he was getting lucky and the bottom is going to fall out. Plus I have serious concerns about his knee.

K/9 is the most overrated stat? Man, this just keeps getting better. Please keep it up.
You realize K/9 means that hitters are missing bats, due to stuff? It means the pitcher takes luck out of it, (balls in play).
Babip does vary year to year. It, strand rate, hr/fb ratio greatly effect era.
NEVER chase wins, the worst way to evaluate a pitcher.

Cahill makes it closer. Let me ask you why you want to make it?

Not sure...lol..just that pitching is a premium in this league and I want to have the best pitching staff I can get. Pitching is much more important than hitting when it comes to this league and I am just not sure if this bolsters my staff enough to give up a stud OF or not?
I'd stay put still.....I agree pitching is important in auction leagues. But maybe you can find something within the first week/month of the season off of the waiver wire when it comes to starters?
Cahill is better get then Jurrjens, However Cahill is leaving the vast pitcher park from Oakland to a "Band box" in the desert, Could be interesting season for him, in Arizona.
IMO Pence is to good to give up for a guy like Torii who's way up there in age and Jair. I had Jair the last few seasons and he's nothing special. Super streaky. I'd stick with Pence. You can get better for him.
