WHIR MY TEAM

Postby livinginarizona » Mon Mar 26, 2012 9:20 pm

12-team Roto, standard 5x5 scoring
R, HR, RBI, AVG, SB
W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

C: Santana
1: Gaby Sanchez
2: Cano
SS: HRam
3: MYoung
OF: Cuddyer, Victorino, Gardner
UTIL: Neil Walker, Dexter Fowler
BN: Saltalamacchia, Ty Wigginton

SP: JWeaver
SP: Darvish
RP: B Wilson
RP: Farnsworth
P: Pineda
P: U Jimenez
P: Kuroda
P: Matt Capps
BN: Neftali Feliz, Ryan Vogelsong, {and yes, didn't realize this either} Javier Vazquez.

I'm planning on dropping Vazquez for Mike Adams on first day of waiver wires.
I'm not ecstatic about my pitching, but think I'm not bad off either [I prefer NL pitching over AL, I missed out on Lincecum one pick before I drafted Weaver].

Thoughts? Chirp in and I'll chirp in on yours.

3 years straight and running champ, hoping to make it a fourth.

Very solid...Gaby Sanchez and Darvish are your 2 x-factors, if they pan out this year you'll be very good.

I like the value I got for Sanchez, drafted him in the 14th round with pick 163.
Darvish was my alternate choice in round 9, just missed out on Wainwright that round.

Agreed, I think it looks like a solid team. If Sanchez has a hot start its probably a good idea to try and move him for an upgrade at 1b. It seemed like once pitchers figured him out last year his numbers dropped significantly.

If Darvish pans out you look to be in good shape.

lend a hand?

Thanks for checking out my team. You had a few questions. I had the 4th pick and I took Votto who, with our scoring, is great. I had indeed targeted gardner(I have had him the last 2 years and was great, but he went way higher than I expected)

As for your team, I think the only real question mark will be at pitching. Darvish is an unknown and a risk to be your #2 starter. Feliz, with his injury concerns is another guy who could be fantastic or someone you have to dump because he cannot stay healthy. I like Sanchez a lot as well and where you got him is just value. I think you have a real shot at #4 title

Let me say you that you have a very solid team... your hitters seems like they can do an awesome performance... the only one I don't like on your positional players is Victorino, he is a great player but I had some problems with him a few seasons ago... hahaha, just kidding bro.. great batters...

Your pitchers looks less deep than your batters but still them are very good.. I mean I have some doubts about Ubaldo and Vogelsong but if Neftali has a good transition to SP, I think you will have no problems...

All and all it looks like a pretty solid team. I think your pitching should be fine. The only thing I don't really like is your first base/utility positions. Sanchez may be ok but with first base so deep I think you could have got a better option. Also you maybe a little short on power. Is adam dunn available in free agency? He has been good this spring and I would be willing to take a chance. Another cheap option for power who could be available is carlos pena.

help with mine?

Hahaha on Victorino. He's been a part of my team for all 4 championships. :-D
Vogelsong did pretty good for me last year, I don't think I need him immediately and I like him as a #5 starter considering how well he did last year for me.

I actually like Sanchez in the cleanup spot for Miami. He was drafted in the 14th round.
Dunn, is an average killer.
Power-wise, I like Neil Walker's ability in the UTIL spot to help me out. Drafted Walker in the 13th round. Between Walker and Sanchez I think they will help supplement my other power hitters in Cano, HRam, and Cuddyer. Throw Victorino in there and I think I'll be decent enough.

Thanks for the comments.
