Massive trades tulo/longo/lee/hamels WHIR

Postby macmillanben » Mon Mar 26, 2012 7:06 pm

Current Roster is:
C-Wieters
1b-Hosmer
2b-Pedroia
3b-Wright
SS-Tulo
1b/3b- A-Ram
2b/SS-Zobrist
U-Butler
OF-Braun
OF-J.Upton
OF-Cargo
OF-B.Upton
OF-A.Jones
Bn-Castro,Chris Young

P-Haren,Shields,Greinke,Moore,Hellickson,Hanson,Wainwright,Beachy,Bumgarner

I posted possible trades earlier, neither of which ended up happening but I'm wondering what you guys think of moving Castro to SS and then shipping Tulo/Moore/Chris Young for Lee/Hamels/Harper... I'm only taking SPs and just completely abandoning SVs so I'm thinking this would make my rotation absolutely dominant. Then trading Shields and A-ram for Longo.. I figure Castro will make up for Tulos BA and outproduce his steals where as Longo will make up for his power, all the while ending with a huge pitching upgrade. Please help, WHIR.

Do you know you can get the second deal done if you do the first deal? I'm not loving the first deal but I do like the second deal and then makes the first one not too bad. In the first deal, I don't think you are getting enough value in return and think you should be able to get a Kershaw or Halladay along with something else in return for Tulo. The second deal doesn't look like enough so if you just assume the guy will take it you better be sure before you count on it.

Not a fan. It's easier to come back from the dead in pitching cats then it is in hitting by using the WW.

I don't see your hitting as dominant. YOur SP already looks dominant.

I would keep Tulo and do something more downsized. Maybe Castro and a back end SP like Hanson for Lee.

Please help with mine.
