Drop Anyone to Grab Zack Cozart? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Mon Mar 26, 2012 1:07 pm

It seems Cozart is going to bat in front of Joey Votto, or at least he has been on occasion. As a potential impact SS with the bat, is he worth adding? Who should I drop?

I'd say goodbye to Mr. Cain pretty bloody quickly to be honest.... Cozart could be an impact dude at a scarce position - you are set everywhere so i'd take the high upside of him.

Also what about making a 2 for 1 deal of someone like Anibal + Hunter for a Chris Young or Matt moore or bumgarner type guy... then pick up cozart straight off...

So hard to drop Lorenzo Cain given his crazy spring right now. Any other suggestions?

I would like to deal Hunter and Anibal for SP help and am in the midst of negotiating.

Personally while spring matters for young guys like that I don't hold that much stock in it - you are also talking about a flyer really on him and cozart. so you can go back and forth on both. But i'd lean on the SS giving you some more flexibility as well...

There is no need for you to get Cozart. His upside isnt even that high. I would keep Cain over him for sure. Cozarts ceiling is 20/20. I like Cozart but with Hanley you have no reason to pick him up. Its not like he is going anywhere he is just sitting on the wire.

If you want Cozart that badly, then you could drop Rasmus. Since they're both the same player (high upside, no guarantee), I would just sit and wait. It's your call though.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)
