Rizzo vs Alonso vs Goldschmidt. This year & long term

Postby Subversive » Sun Mar 25, 2012 11:33 pm

Hey, I play in a custom dynasty league which scores hitter based on TB + SB. I've got a solid roster, I won the league last year, and I'd like to obviously carry that on. I'm looking to add a 1B for depth purposes, and with an eye to the long term future. Given the scoring mentioned above, does anyone have comments on these 3 guys?

I'm interested in 1) who will have the best year this season, from a TB perspective?
and 2) who has the best long term upside, from the same perspective?

Thanks!
Bah, humbug.

I would have to go with Yonder even with Petco effect. Yonder's average, line drive stroke, and general approach is going to play well in Petco, minus some HRs of course. Glodschmidt is going to get you 4 tb at a time but probably negated by atrocious K rate. Rizzo should hit well in Wrigley, but as a Cubs fan I can tell you nothing goes right:) Plus he won't be there for a little bit.

Can't really go wrong but I go Yonder, Gold, Rizzo each seperated from each other by about the same distance.

Don't care for Rizzo.
Alonso is ok.
Goldschmidt has the highest ceiling imo.

I think if you're going to plug one of these guys into your lineup it's gotta be based on circumstance:

Goldschmidt if you have decent BA on your team already and just looking for some power.

Rizzo if you can wait and be patient

Alonso if you want the safe bet for this year
