Just Drafted in This 16-Team League - Thoughts? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Sun Mar 25, 2012 10:21 pm

Any thoughts on what I might change/tweak? Just drafted in this 16-team league (had 8th pick). I basically have a plethora of guys with pretty horrible batting averages but I wanted to get those counting stats while ensuring my rotation was strong.

16-Team H2H League with the following stats
Hitting: R, HR, RBI, SB, E, AVG, OPS
Pitching: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

C J.P. Arencibia
1B Joey Votto
2B Danny Espinosa
3B Michael Young
SS Dee Gordon
LF Vernon Wells
CF Jayson Werth
RF Nick Swisher
UT Mark Teixeira
BN Angel Pagan

SP Zack Greinke
SP C.J. Wilson
RP J.J. Putz
RP Greg Holland
P Sean Marshall
P Aroldis Chapman
P Tyler Clippard
BN Ervin Santana
BN Max Scherzer
BN Brandon McCarthy
BN Mark Buehrle

16 team...man, that's tough.

I don't know, you might have enough AVG with Votto/Young to counteract some of the awful guys (Arencibia/Espinosa).

If Werth gets back to form, and Pagan has a nice time in SF, your offense looks pretty solid for a 16-teamer. Lacking in speed a bit, but Pagan/Gordon might be enough to pull throw on certain weeks.

Pitching is ok as I'm high on Greinke and I think CJ getting out of arlington is going to end up doing wonders for him. If Max takes the next step and Brandon McCarthy meets the hype, again, you're looking very solid here too.

Overall I think you did a nice job. I'd be a little wary of steals from week to week, and you're right about the battling average, but I would bet it's one of the more balanced teams in the league.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)
