I'm in an 8 team public league, roto, with the standard positions except there is an extra Util position. With 23 players allowed, there are 5 players on the bench.
It's a 6x6 league, with the extra categories being OPS and K/BB.
I've made a couple trades already, and wanted to see if anyone had further advice. Here's my current team:
C: LoDuca
1B: Pujols (ya, not ideal, I know, but what can you do?)
2B: Vidro
3B: Chavez
SS: Renteria
OF: Bonds
OF: Abreu
OF: Preston Wilson/Tim Salmon/Juan Pierre
Util: Rolen
Util: Wilson/Salmon/Pierre
Bench: Bellhorn
Bench: Need to pick up a guy off waivers/FA
Wow, you got Pedro, Bonds, and Pujols? Pretty good. As for your question, I wouldn't drop Padilla for any of the pitchers you named. Hold on to him and see how he does, he could have a pretty good year....

Pedro and Pujols both slipped in the autodraft that was held. Pedro slipped to #13, and Pujols slipped to #15. No clue why. Anyway, I had to trade for Pedro and Abreu, and certainly gave away some good talent to do so, but I like my team pretty well as reconstituted.
Autodrafts can be a riot sometimes, especially with two Util positions to fill on offense. I drafted Pujols, Chavez, Glaus and Rolen. Another guy got Unit, Pedro, Oswalt, Halladay, Morris, and Millwood. Last but not least, another guy got Soriano, Kent and Boone. None of these guys, in my opinion, were overrated by the people that drafted them, just the way the chips fall sometimes in the always-interesting autodraft. *shrug*
