Final Keeper Draft Strategy Question - Draft tonight!

Postby Knights » Sun Mar 25, 2012 9:52 am

16-team Keeper league (6 keepers), H2H 6x6 categories. I have the 3rd and 19th overall picks, but don't have a 3rd round pick.

After much help from everyone here, I think I've decided to target SP and CF with my first 2 picks. Now I have one final question for which order to target them.

The top available CF are Shane Victorino, Chris Young and Drew Stubbs.
The top available SP are James Shields, Ricky Romero, Brandon Beachy, Ian Kennedy and Yu Darvish.

I keep flip-flopping... do I take likely either James Shields or Ricky Ro with my first pick and hope like heck that Chris Young or Drew Stubbs (I'm kind of leaning towards Young for power numbers) fall to me at my 2nd round pick; and if they don't take one of Josh Beckett, Michael Pineda, Gio Gonzalez, Jordan Zimmermann or Cory Leubke giving me 2 SP with my first 2 picks.

Or... do I take Shane Victorino with my first pick and take the best remaining SP (Josh Beckett, Michael Pineda, Gio Gonzalez, Jordan Zimmermann or Cory Leubke) with my 2nd pick?

I can't decide, as CF is so thin that I want to hopefully get either Victorino or Young before the position deteriorates to straight-SB guys (which I don't think I need), but at the same time Garza as my #1 SP doesn't bode well for my pitching this season.

Any help would be great! Leave a link, WHIR.

This. Maybe Beachy will still be around for that 2nd pick.

Go with Shields or R Ro with that first pick. Think you'll be able to fill CF later and you already have a strong start with the bats

I'd go with Shields first.

But as I mentioned in another post, I hate Victorino, so I am very biased.

Sorry if i am too late and thank you for looking at mine. I think you got some sound advice from others, so if I am too late, tell us what happened.
