My Castro for His Cano

Postby misterf » Sun Mar 25, 2012 9:17 am

Just got offered Cano for Castro.

On paper, looks like a no-brainer.....but I would be left scrambling for a SS if I accept the deal. i don't have any spare SS on my roster and the best waiver wire options are St. Drew, Cozart, or Scutaro.

Of course, I would have bargaining chips in Rickie Weeks (my current 2B) and utility guys like Prado, Ike Davis and Goldschmidt to try and acquire a replacement SS......but I don't like the idea of counting on another trade (which we all know is never a sure thing).

So, should I accept the trade....or is it more trouble than it's worth?

Thanks....WHIR

p.s. of course, if I do accept the trade it will probably get vetoed anyway

In my mind you have to do that trade. I am not sure what your scoring categories are, but Cano is a first round talent in any league and Casto is an unproven commodity at this point.
It sounds like you got guys on your roster that you could trade for a lower tier SS that may put up numbers similar to Castro like the guy I am going to ask you to help me with.

Just ask yourself this- would you rather have the stats that Cano and (pick a lower tier SS you can pick up or trade for) or castro and weeks. The later does not excite me all that much, but that is me.

help with my ss question?

Take the deal. I am not sure what the other owner is thinking. This is a no brainer. Cano and Scutaro is still a pretty solid MI.

Post your complete roster.
I'd try to move Weeks for a SS like hmm well maybe Alexei Ramirez both have upside with risk.
If ou have ANY spare pieces dump them for Cozart he's got some nice upside.
