Gonzalez/Upton or Lincecum ??

10 team h2h keeper league, standard cbs scoring. We have 3 keepers each and mine are: Pujols, Kemp, Hanley

I have the 4th pick in the this years draft. Available players to consider for my 1st pick:

Carlos Gonzalez, Justin Upton, Ian Kinsler
Tim Lincecum, Cole Hamels, Jerad Weaver, Zack Grienke

What should I do? If Gonzo,Upton,Lincecum go 1.2.3 my choice is Kinsler or one of Hamels/Weaver/Grienke.....I think if this is the case I will go with the arm.

However, this league does not have the best players in the world and Im wondering who you choose if either Gonzo/Upton are there, along with Lincecum?

If I dont take one of the 4 pitchers listed above with my 1st round pick, they will not be there come 2nd round and that would leave me grasping for a staff ace. But how can I pass on either Gonzo or Upton? elite bat vs. elite arm in this spot? need help

Don't worry about having an ace. Pitching is pretty deep so you can find plenty of good starters later. You can't pass any of those hitters for any of those pitchers.

If there are any other big time hitters, I'd probably take them over Lincecum too. Like the last person said, you can't pass up those hitters for any of those pitchers

Upton, Cargo, Kinsler and then you can have a debate. I frankly like both Hamels and Weaver over Lincecum. You can of course debate that but I still hold Lincecum's sub par performance a couple of years ago and offensively challenged team as strikes against him on the reliability\money in the bank evaluation process.

Wouldn't take an ace that early jump one of those bats whichever fall to you.

I think upton is your guy here. Could be potential # 1 pick in e next fee years 5 tool player would be nice addition to your keepers. Ten I would say cargo Kinsler next. I don't like lincecum compared to other pitchers that will be available

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm a big fan of Upton and he was on my team last year. Was tough decision between him and Hanley for my 3rd keeper but went with Hanley due to how weak shortstop is. Anywho, I love Upton and you're right, he could very well be my keeper for next year....and years to come. Hopefully he falls to me in the 4th spot.

My draft is tonight so I will update after its over with what went down for anyone that cares.

I like the list above, but I am going with Cargo first and Upton second. It's personal. I can see the other way as well.
