Madson needs TJ surgery.

I picked up Sean Marshall a few days ago.

Who will get the bulk of the saves for the reds?

I am guessing that Marshall would be the first option. Any chance they use Chapman back int he bullpen now?

I had seen Chapman as a possible suggestion in comments to the article.

What about Massett?

At one point in time I had Cordero and he was the air apparent once Cordero left.

Marshall is who I have heard. Chapman is probably the dark horse.

Say Marshall comes up with 30 saves and a 2.15 ERA. Knowing that he can close, would cincy let Madson go?

I believe he has an $11 million option for next year with a $2million buyout so I doubt they pick up that option considering the circumstances.

I do not see a lefty getting a full time gig.

It's not usual but the only other option they have is Masset I guess although his WHIP from last year is worrisome. I am not sure they know what they will do right now.

It will probably be Marshall.

In regards to Chapman, supposedly Dusty wants to use Chapman to either close or setup but their GM Walt Jocketty wants Chapman to start. So it really depends on who wins the power struggle.

I think Masset is probably the real dark horse here
