If I've got Crawford, I'm looking to get anyone to buy at a decent price. Wrist injuries are among the worst for a hitter, so let him be someone elses problem.

He got lucky with babip and strand rate last year.
His xFIP was 3.80.
If my OF is that bad, i'm not trading Crawford.
SP is easier to find then OF.

He did get a little lucky with those, and with his hr rate, so you can't expect a 2.40 era. But normalize all those, and I still don't think you get a 3.80 era. His career numbers for babip and hr rate are much better than average, so I think you're still looking at ace-calibre numbers, just not Kershaw-ace-calibre numbers.

And while of isn't tremendously deep, it's a very shallow league. I haven't seen a league with 4 of spots, so I'm guessing there are 3 -- figuring some being held as backups and utils, I'm guessing about 40 of are taken. I think there's still a lot of depth after that top-40 group.

I can understand keeping Crawford as a sort of lottery ticket. Just wouldn't be my move, especially with the injury.

And I agree that after Beachy your SP depth is pretty meh.

;-D Well put. Weaver is far more valuable imo given the low risk vs Crawford.

Also, he could get Weaver and then trade one of his other SPs to get a bigger\safer bat than Crawford and one that is not so based on SBs since this is H2h. I like Crawford, but I think Weaver definitely gives you the best options to improve here.

Thank you all for your input. I must say the comments were all valid and well-reasoned. Another reason why when I'm stuck or unsure, this is the best forum for getting clarification. I decided to accept the trade. I will receive Weaver and then I'll turn around and see what I can do to add some pop to the lineup. Thanks again.
