Markakis and Ike Davis for Dan Uggla? (WHIR)

Postby Rabid58 » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:09 pm

I'm trying to fill my hole at 2nd base right now through a trade. I had a great chance cause another player, who's not the smartest, dropped Ben Zobrist. Perfect opportunity for me right? Well the guy right above me in waivers nabbed him. This guy also had Dan Uggla and Aaron Hill. I talked to him today and he said he'd be willing to trade Uggla for me. So as of now the proposal is looking like this:

I give:
Nick Markakis
Ike Davis

I get:
Dan Uggla

My Roster:
C: Carlos Santana (C, U, CLE)
1B: Adrian Gonzalez (1B, U, BOS)
2B: Jason Kipnis (2B, U, CLE)
3B: Pablo Sandoval (3B, U, SF)
SS: Starlin Castro (SS, U, CHC)
OF: Jacoby Ellsbury (OF, U, BOS)
OF: Josh Hamilton (OF, U, TEX)
OF: Michael Bourn (OF, U, ATL)
Util: Jhonny Peralta (SS, U, DET)
Pitching Staff: Atlanta Braves (P, ATL)
B: Colby Rasmus (OF, U, TOR
B: Ike Davis (1B, U, NYM)
B: Nick Markakis (OF, U, BAL)
B: Mike Moustakas (3B, U, KC)
B: Logan Morrison (OF, U, MIA)
B: Emilio Bonifacio (3B, SS, OF, U, MIA)

His Roster:
C: J.P. Arencibia
1B: Miguel Cabrera
2B: Ben Zobrist
3B: Brett Lawrie
SS: Jimmy Rollins
OF: Mike Morse
OF: Andrew McCutchen
OF: Carlos Gonzalez
U: Drew Stubbs
Pitching: Giants and Cardinals
B: Aaron Hill
B: Martin Prado
B: Dan Uggla
B: Peter Bourjos
B: Freddie Freeman

Scoring is as follows:
Lineup lock time:

Each week you must set your starting lineup. For each player on your roster, you will have until five (5) minutes prior to the start of each player's first MLB game being played each week to place each player into your starting lineup for that week.

Point Scoring System:

Your players will score points for you each game based on the following formula:

Hitters

Single = 1
Double = 2
Triple = 3
Home Run = 4
Run = 1
RBI = 1
Walk = 1
Stolen Base = 2
Caught Stealing = -1

Lemme know what ya think i should do or try and tweak the trade! Give me a link and i'll help you out too! Thanks in advance!

Talked him down to Logan Morrison instead of Markakis. So i took it instantly. Logan Morrison and Ike Davis for Dan Uggla and then i picked up Eric Hosmer in free agency. Good move?

Either one is a no brainer. Im surprised the league didnt reject the trade.

Good trade for you although I would have dealt Markakis before Morrison.

I agree that both trades are no brainers, and that you should have kept Morrison over Markakis.

Also, how was Hosmer still available in the free agent pool? I'd call him an upgrade over Davis, and this is coming from a Mets fan!
