I have my 14 team cbs sportsline points league draft next tuesday. Where can I get to get (free) customized rankings, strategy of who to draft, etc?
it seems like most things you have to pay for, and the cafe doesnt have ALOT of articles on who to look for and who to stay away from. Any suggestions on the most realistic place to go? I was perusing CBS site but they have hurt in the past, they have some wierd and untrue advice.
Thanks - I dont have much time to put into this so I wanted just somewhere to go to get help.
If you have excel you could also download and try Draft Tracker. It's a free tool (donate if you like it) and is semi customizable. I believe that lastplayerpicked.com has some tools that could help too.
EDIT: For advise though .... stay away from CBS. They are an outstanding host for your league, but the advise is shoddy at best. Get your player updates from Rotoworld & become a frequent browser/poster in the Leftovers Forum right here at the Cafe. There is always great talk going on there. I also like to read Grey's articles at Razzball.
I tend to use ESPN/CBS/SI and hybrid them - meaning mix the rankings. However Points league are an animal of their own... I haven't used any of the pay sites but really everyone is working with the same information. I'd look at your scoring system and find out where the advantages are - is it stud SP? or is 1 category weighted more so etc and then focus on loading up.
Most of the guys on CBS I agree with prior post, seem a bit... wankerish on their rankings/analysis - ESPN I really like Karabell but he's a bit too conservative and goes older guys more then young. I would try to read as much as you can though.... did you have specific questions about strategy you wanted to bounce off of someone?
I just need help on who to draft and when, I am in a 14 team pts league (same as last year) with 16 batters and 7 pitchers
batters C 1B 2B 3B SS OF OF OF DH
and 7 pitchers
1B Singles 1 point 2B Doubles 2 points 3B Triples 3 points BB Walks (Batters) 1 point CYC Hitting for the Cycle 10 points HR Home Runs 4 points R Runs 1 point RBI Runs Batted In 1 point SB Stolen Bases 1 point
CG Complete Games 5 points K Strikeouts (Pitcher) 1 point NH No-Hitters 10 points S Saves 7 points W Wins 15 points
Razzball seems to have great advice, but I just dont know who to target and when - seems to me I need get big boppers and wait on picthers
