How many years do you lock up for a stud?

Postby louismm35 » Thu Mar 22, 2012 12:18 am

I can use 22 years on keepers, so I have about 9 players I want to keep. However, I have 3 being used on Braun, Tulo, Kemp, and M Cab each. Would you lock up any of these players for more than 3 years? Just dont want to be stuck with them if they fall off. I have bot Posey and Carlos Sant. at catcher, and I was going to use 2 years on each of them. Would you do this, or take, say, Busters years and dump him to give an extra year to 2 of the studs? If you have any thoughts I would love to hear them. Thanks!

Do you have to keep 9?
Can you keep less?

Ryan Braun 3
Miguel Cabrera 3
Matt Kemp 3
Buster Posey 2
Alex Rodriguez 1
Carlos Santana 2
Troy Tulowitzki 3

Player
Josh Johnson 3
Stephen Strasburg 2
22

Dont have to keep any number, I could use all 22 on Braun if I wanted. This is how I set it so far. I am nervous that ALL of the studs will be gone after year 3. Obviously, I hope to pick up others worthy of keeping in the future, but the more years I lock up, the less I have to use...

I'm not going over a year, on SP with some question marks.
I like both, but i want a sure stud to lock up long term.
I'm going heavy on the stud young bats.

Braun 4
Kemp 4
Miggy 4
Tulo 4
Santana 4

I'd give Stras multiple years simply because he's young and has plenty of time even if injuries do behest him. If you were to cut one of Santana/Posey....who could you keep instead? Also do you use 2 catchers if so nothing wrong with what your doing. If you only use one I'd look elsewhere. Trade
