Details aren't worked out yet, and right now it's just a conversation.
I would give: Miguel Cabrera, G Soto, a starting pitcher and a closer I would get: Michael Young, Brian McCann, David Price, and a non-closer RP.
I would put Young in my empty DH spot, then take Fielder of the bench and put him at 1B. My SP needs upgrading. I don't plan on giving away Hanson, Sanchez or Worley. His RPs are: N Feliz (just about sure to start), J Venters (he won't trade), V Pestano, E O'Flaherty, and A Aceves.
My team before (and after)
C - Soto (McCann) 1B - Cabrera (Fielder) 2B - Kinsler 3B - A Rod SS - A Cabrera OF - Bruce OF - J Hamilton OF - Beltran DH - empty (Young) BN - Fielder (empty) BN - L Morrison BN - M Reynolds BN - Alexei Ramirez BN - R Raburn
SP - Hanson SP - A Sanchez SP - T Stauffer SP - V Worley SP - R Dempster SP - J Chacin SP - Oswalt RP - Storen RP - JJ Putz RP - Balfour RP - M Melancon RP - K Uehara
I get what you guys are saying. But does it make any difference at all that it fills my specific needs?
C - McCann would be a huge upgrade over Soto DH - Young would be a huge upgrade over an empty spot. Right now I'm hoping that either Cabrera, Prince, A Rod or Raburn will get DH eligibility. No telling when or if that will happen. 1B - There's no replacing Cabrera, but I've got Prince on the bench. This is the key for me. Having Cabrera and Prince on the corners would be awesome. But how quickly will Cabrera get 3B eligibility? I've heard everything from the 2nd week to much later. If he is rotated between 3B, 1B and DH, it could take a while. SP - I would trade away a lesser starter for Price. Probably Dempster. RP - I would probably trade Balfour and get O'Flaherty.
Bottom line, would my team as a whole be better or worse?

No.
If you aren't getting full value for Miggy, then it simply doesn't matter how many holes you fill on your roster. You will still be losing on the deal.
