SP for RP help - WHIR

Postby sixer03fan » Wed Mar 21, 2012 6:41 pm

Gentlemen, I need closers. Didn't really draft any, because I usually don't put much stock in them at the beginning of the year. The position is so unstable, so there are always new guys stepping into the roles that I can get off the waiver wire. I also think closers are generally pretty overrated, meaning the "elite" closers don't differentiate enough from the average ones, because they don't pitch enough innings overall. But I'm not here to argue about the value of a good closer.

Another team wants me to propose a trade. He desperately needs SP, which I have in plenty, and I want one or two of his closers in return to round out an already stacked team (keeper league - I stocked up on early draft picks this year from trades last year). Help me come up with a good deal to propose. WHIR. Thanks!

Would Hellickson or Scherzer for Hanrahan be in my best interest? Or am I giving up too much value there? Again, I really value SP over RP, and I like the potential that Scherzer and Hellickson have this year.

How about something like Aramis/Bumgarner or Aramis/Latos for Zimmerman/Hanrahan?

I like you giving up Aramis/Latos if he takes that.

I like Hanrahan over Hellickson the most.
I like Hanrahan over Scherzer some.
I value SP the least, since i think it's the easiest thing to find.

I like the Hellickson for Hanrahan deal. I also don't mind the Aramis and Latos for Zimmerman and Hanrahan.

I think I like the Zimmerman deal the most because you upgrade at 3B and while you lose a decent SP it won't hurt you that much and you get a solid closer as well.
