Pujols For Beltre And Holliday?

Postby Rmbxr9 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 6:12 pm

14 Team 6x6 H2H

I know that Pujols is a top 1-3 pick, and that's where I got him Round 1.2, but is this enough value in return for him?
There's a guy in my league who needs a 1B, he somehow ended up with James Loney.

I currently have Mark Reynolds at 3B, and Paul Konerko at Util.
My current OF is Stanton, Bourn, Choo, Fowler, Rasmus

I'd go
1B - Pujols
3B - Reynolds
OF - Stanton, Bourn, Choo
U - Konerko

To
1B - Konerko
3B - Beltre
OF - Holliday, Stanton, Bourn
U - Choo

I personally kind of like the idea, a top 1st rounder for a 2nd rounder and a high 3rd. But I feel like 90% of the world would say I'm not getting enough for A.P

Thoughts? Trade is still in my thoughts, not projected or accepted...

I'm definitely in that 90% category. Absolutely nowhere near good enough return to trade away Pujols. Hold tight unless you can get a first-rounder + someone else decent in return.

Help with mine?

If you don't like the first one, what about this... I could also use a SS (I have I.Desmond, Y.Escobar)

My

R.Weeks
I.Desmond or Y.Escobar

His
Beltre
Holliday
Asdrubal Cabrera

So aside from Bautista, M.Cabrera, Braun, etc, what would be fair value for Albert?

I get that I'd be giving away the best player here, but I feel like a #2 Rounder in Beltre, #3 Rounder in Holliday, #5 Rounder in A.Cabrera, and an 11 in N.Walker is pretty good value.

I actually would have loved Walker over Weeks, but I kind of got stuck with Weeks in the draft as a "Have to do it" type of thing.

I think it is a fair deal and very tempting. It does upgrade your team for the most part and I can see why you would want to do it. Saying all that it would be very hard for me to pull the trigger on this only because I am having a hard time figuring out which roster is better. While Holliday is an upgrade in the OF and Beltre is a clear upgrade at 3B, you do lose a lot by subtracting by Pujols. There are just so many variables that I am not sure which is the best way to go which woudl be why I would lean towards keeping Pujols because you know what he is.

I am assuming this is a one year league. If so then I don't see a problem with doing the deal. It could easily be the thing that wins you a title and it doesn't hurt you going for next year like it would in a keeper. If you are up for a little risk taking, then try it. It isn't a bad trade at all but probably not one I would do.

Thanks MaudDib, I needed someone kind of on my side... :-b

I think one of my main things is the Weeks and Walker aspect.
I think that Walker is essentially going to match Weeks in a lot of categories, you know.

I can see Walker having 15 HR, 80 RBI, 75 Runs, .270 Avg, .760 OPS
I can see Weeks having 25 HR, 80 RBI, 85 Runs, .260 Avg, .810 OPS

So I guess I'm seeing that as a break even, but a case where another manager would be like, "Oooooh Rickie Weeks...?"

If I take that approach it's kind of Albert for Holliday/Beltre/Asdrubal
With my Desmond or Yunel thrown in. Which I guess gets back to the original Albert for Holliday/Beltre.
