Last Place to First?

Postby khabibul35 » Tue Mar 20, 2012 11:03 pm

I took over a team that had finished in last place, but I think with some solid keepers and good drafting this might be a first place team. Let me know what you guys think!

Settings: 12 teams, standard 5x5

1B - Paul Konerko (keeper)
2B - Michael Cuddyer (keeper)
3B - Emelio Bonifacio (keeper)
SS - Troy Tulowitzki (keeper)
MI - Kelly Johnson
OF - Matt Kemp (keeper)
OF - Carlos Gonzalez
OF - Shin-Soo Choo
Util - Shane Victorino (keeper)
Util - Paul Goldschmidt
BN - Brandon Belt
BN - Mark Trumbo
BN - John Mayberry Jr.
BN - Allen Craig

SP - Felix Hernandez (keeper)
SP - Cory Luebke
RP - Craig Kimbrel (keeper)
RP - Rafael Betancourt
P - Frank Francisco
P - Yu Darvish
P - Mike Minor
BN - Brandon Morrow
BN - Tim Stauffer

Looks like you drafted pretty good.
I would replace Stauffer with a FA SP.
I would try to upgrade at C, maybe offering one of you extra 1B.

I actually only drafted Stauffer as a spot starter (figuring his first start would be at Petco vs. Dodgers). I might try to get an upgrade at Catcher in late May once some of the situations sort themselves out, but for now Ianneta in that ridiculous Angels line-up should be adequate.

You should compete but theres probly half the league that has better starting roster than you do. 4 big stars then the next tier of players isn't anything special. You can do well, I don't know if last to first is in the cards but you'll give it a good run. I'd continue to look for SP depth

Thanks for your help with mine.

You have a good team, but I wouldn't say its a first place team.

You are pretty deep in OF. You could package Choo and Belt for an upgrade in pitching at third base.
