Hi guys, 12 team 7x7 roto. The extra cats are walks & OPS for hitters, HR and L for pitchers.
I'm not thrilled with how my team turned out. Zimmerman/McCutchen on the turn left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I should have gone with an elite arm or Texiera over Zimerman? Oh well, by-gones...
Now how do I go about addressing my weakness at MI? My offer of Zimmerman for Kinsler got rejected by a team that is hurting for a 3B. Would throwing ina closer be a good idea? The Kinsler owner only has Marmol-Balfour-Fuentes-Myers as RP. Am I trying to hard too move Zimmerman? He also has Zobrist at MI. Should I offer ARod for Zobrist instead? Thoughts on my team in general?
C: Arencibia 1B: MCab 2B: K. Johnson SS: Escobar 3B: Zimmerman CI: ARod MI: Cozart OF: McCutchen, Bruce, Swisher, Fowler Bench: Lorenzo Cain
SP: Bumgarner, Latos, Moore, Garza, McCarthy, Sale, Alverez, Floyd RP: Madson, Santos, Betancourt, League, Greg Holland
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
Zimmerman will be undervalued until the season gets rolling. He's an elite 3B entering his "magical" 27yo season...but...coming off some injuries, you're not going to get full value for him. Wait til he looks healthy the first few weeks...and he'll be raking, I assure you...then you can shop him. Though, I'd rather shop A-Rod, myself (if it's a keeper league especially)
Stay on the Kinsler trade but that's going to be tricky.
As for your team:
Yeah, I don't love your MI. Cozart could offer some cheap value...a 15-15 season is very possible. Johnson will have at least one hot streak this year...maybe could move him after that? But yeah, I'd make a move for a cheap, upside 2B. Maybe you could find a Murphy or something?
I think you are ok. I actually like Zimmerman this year. The Washington offense should be solid and his counting stats should go up. He is an injury concern though and as such you won't get solid value for him.
I think I would hold what you have right now. KJ could bounce back this year and Cozart is a potential 15/15 guy.
Thanks guys. Good point about Zimmerman's injury history sapping a lot of his trade value right now. I'll see what kind of interest I can generate with ARod in the meantime.
I'm pretty high on Johnson this year. There has beena lot of talk of him hitting 2nd in front of Bautista, and he is just a couple years removed from a 25-15 season. He can take a walk and hold a solid OPS even in a down year. Ideally I can land a top 2B for Zimmerman in the middle of a hot streak and move Johnson to MI.
Anymore thoughts?

I'd want Zobrist over ARod, but you might be able to find someone who is still expecting the ARod of a few seasons back.
I agree that your team looks fairly solid. While MI is your weak spot, you should hold off on making any moves there until Zimmerman and your closers prove their worth.
