Shields for Hellickson and Marcum? H2H PTS WHIR

H2H PTS league, 8 teams. Is anyone skeptical on Shields doing just as well as last year? Or doing worse, as his past years numbers suggested? Is this a good deal?

Side note, I am the one that has Shields. But my current rotation is: Hernandez, Wilson, SHIELDS, Strasburg, Darvish, Johnson, Feliz, J. Santana

I like the trade a lot. You don't necessarily need the pitching help, but the depth you'll get is a good investment.

I would rather have Shields, unless you are dropping a complete scrub in the process (as you get 2 for 1).

Shields will regress, but so will Hellickson (he was WAY more lucky in regards to 2011). Hellickson just doesn't do it for me. His underlying stats aren't great and he doesn't strike out enough batters. He also regressed in the 2nd half. Marcum is a solid SP though, but not nearly as good as Shields IMO.

I like your rotation as is. You have a lot of gambles for pitchers- Darvish, Johnson, Feliz, J. Santana. And with those, I'd rather keep the most reliable SP available; and of the three guys in the trade Shields is it.

Do we expect Shields to regress alot? his numbers before last year kind of scare me. And I feel like Hellickson has nothing but upside. I had marcum last year he started off well if i remember correctly, but he ended up doing pretty poorly i think. Still a solid pitcher though.

Hellickson had the lowest babip last year.
And his K/9 isn't great.
I think last year was over his head, unless he gets his K/9 up.

Shields is worth more to me then those 2.
Shields career xFIP is 3.66. He shouldn't scare you.

Well I ended up trading Shields for Morse and Buchholz. I like Buchholz to do very well assuming he is and will stay healthy. Did I do bad here?
