Joey Votto keeper deal. Always WHIR

Postby CyboNinja » Mon Mar 19, 2012 12:59 am

12 team h2h 6x6 (ops, qs) keep any 7 no limits.

The offer is.. My Votto, Zobrist, Moustakas, Edwin Jackson for Pence, Matt Holliday, David Wright, Matt Moore

I dont need more keepers and this would definitely be a go for it this year trade. Here is what my team looks like..

C- Weiters
1b- Votto
2b- Pedroia
3b- Lawrie
SS- Hanley
LF- Jennings
CF- Stubbs
RF- Zobrist
Util- Hosmer
Util- Moustakas
Bn- Dunn
Bn- Boujous
Bn- Mesoraco

P- Josh Johnson
P- Yu Darvish
P- Brandon Beachy
SP- Tim Hudson
SP- Scott Baker (most likely won't start till late April)
RP- Mariano Rivera
RP- Matt Capps
Bn- Mike Minor
Bn- Edwin Jackson
Bn- Ivan Nova
Bn- Mike Leake
Bn- Danny Duffy

Its just sooo hard to trade away Votto (ops league to boot)...... Is this getting enough? I always say, I'm not married to any of my keepers }:-)

I should add, Napoli, Posey, Uggla, Jordan Zimmerman, Daniel Hudson, Morrow, and Luebke could all be swapped for any of the players coming to my team. I think Holliday, Pence, Wright, and Moore will help me the most in 2012. What do the good people think?

I agree. tough to move Votto but you're getting a ton of value back. The only thing that worries me is Wright's injury. I would hold off for about a week and see if Wright is going to be healthy. The trade loses a lot of its luster if Wright is out for a month.

I agree with the guys above. I like it. Pull the trigger and hope Wright isn't out for too long.

I don't love it. It is fair but you are taking on some risk with Wright and Moore. Plus Votto is pretty valuable in a OPS league. Personally I wouldn't do it because I don't feel that it is making the team better even though you are getting some good talent back.

What about Napoli instead of Wright? Does that make any better of a deal?

Well, you have Wieters. But Wright is banged up so in a way this is a better deal for you.

i think you do it if you get napoli instead of wright. if nap gets a full year of playing time, you can realistically expect the same or better numbers as last year.

This trade doesn't look like a big win for you. Napoli instead of Wright makes it better, but like someone said, with Wieters you're not exactly hurting at C. To put it another way, carrying both would kind of be a waste. Plus you have Mesoraco in the wings.

Moustakas has a lot of upside himself, so even if you can afford to lose him and Zobrist (Getting a RF back, and have Lawrie) I'm just not sure. You always want to think long and hard before you give up the best player in the trade, and Votto is far and away the best here.

If you really want to win in 2012, I'd look to move Jennings, Moustakas, and Hosmer.
