Who is better, Cintron or Loretta?

Postby Mighty Monks » Thu Apr 01, 2004 6:50 am

Which guy should I take, I have soriano, a-rod and ensberg in my IF. Loretta is backing up at 2b, but cintron could play 3rd if ensberg stinks. Do you guys think Cintron will have a better year than loretta?

thats a tough one. i dont know a great deal about either. but i like cintron's stats from last year, he looks like he might be promising this year. and in ur situation, if its a backup i would rather take a gamble on a guy with some upside. i would go cintron.....plus its a pretty cool name huh.

Cintron and Loretta had very similar numbers last year. Thus, all things being relatively equal, you go with the guy with more upside Cintron's a second year guy, Loretta's over 30. In my mind, it has to be Cintron.

I'd have to say Cintron. He seems to have more upside and maybe some even unrealized talent.

I have to say Loretta. I know that I may seem like I'm a homer, but they had similar numbers last year, and this year the Pads have a pretty good lineup. So, I am counting on Loretta having a much better year. He's a career .297 (after 8 years in the majors) and is hitting in front of Brian Giles and (hopefully healthy) Nevin.

cintron...he's got unbelievable potential...when it comes to me picking whether or not to take one of two people with comparable stats, I always go with the younger player, most likely that means he has more upside and less chance of getting a freak injury

Cintron. He's young, has a great swing, and having seen him play a lot I think he's the real deal. His two position eligibility is a huge plus, too.
