Take the Ace or the Power OF? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Sat Mar 17, 2012 4:17 pm

I have 12th and 13th pick in our draft tomorrow. I have my 6 keepers plugged in below. I plan on taking the best available SP with pick # 12 but can't decide whether to take another stud pitcher with pick 13 (giving me 3 stud SPs before all the studs are gone) OR whether I should target Jay Bruce. I've listed the players available in the draft below. I have put the team number next to the player to suggest who will be there (so anyone with a 12 is where I'd pick). What's the best approach? Target Cain and Gallardo or Cain/Gallardo and Bruce with my first two picks? Are there enough good pitchers when I pick again to justify passing on Gallardo?

12 Team H2H Daily with 6 Keepers Season to Season, each for 3 years max. * means player cannot be kept.

I would look at Bruce and a SP. If Bruce isn't there than probably 2 SP. You have a pretty solid lineup already and if there are two stud SP then I would start filling that out before the top ones are all gone.

I agree with MaudDib. Your lineup looks solid so far. I would add that if one of those SP from Greinke and above drop to you, I'd take them and then follow up with Bruce.

im not so familiar with H2H leagues, always done Roto, but from what I understand SP's are more valuable in h2h leagues.

Being that you have some legit bats already in your lineup, I would suggest going with those 2 SPS that you mentioned.

I think I'd go after 2 pitchers. You have a solid offensive corp, so I'd make sure my pitching is going to hold up every week as well.

2 best pitchers for 12th and 13th pick, especially if one of those top ten fall down to you, then Matt Moore next round sounds fun to me.

So which scenario is best? Assuming Greinke is gone:

A.) Cain and Gallardo

B.) Cain and Bruce

C.) Cain and Victorino
