This is in a small 8 team head-to-head league (most are new to fbb, like me). The scoring is:

I'm in the free yahoo league. Any advice about who I should try to trade for or dealing with injuries or anything I should keep in mind as the season goes on would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nice team overall. You need another closer desperatly. You have 1 sure closer(Urbina). Who all is on the WW? Chacon? Kolb? Looper? In an 8 team league you are bound to find people like that out there. Is Miguel Cabrera or Mark Teixeira available? Both are able to play 3B and will be better than Dimitri this year. Also look for someone a little bit more youthful to replace w/ Conine. Corey Patterson or Milton Bradley maybe? Other than that your team looks pretty good. Just let us know who all is on the WW!

Thank you for the advice, but I'm still a little confused. Are the yahoo ranks useful at all? Most of the guys you listed are available, but because they are ranked a lot lower. You have to understand that we are all new, so we did our own rankings, but not all that deep into the draft. I would guess nobody ranked more than 100 players, and most probably were short of 50. Now with 8 teams with 21 players, that is 168 players taken in draft. So, any player ranked 169 or lower by yahoo, is on ww.

You mentioned Chacon for a closer, but yahoo has him as a starting pitcher. I'm not sure what you meant. And who would I replace on pitching? I'm sorry if I'm making this more difficult than it should be, but I like to know why I should do something, not just what I should do. This is a lot harder than football, because I don't know baseball as well. I live near St. Louis and I'm a Boston fan. Outside of those teams, I don't know too many players, other than name recognition. Except maybe rival teams, such as Cubs and Yanks.

I don't look at the Yahoo rankings. I would pick up Tex if I could he should hit 30 HR and Kolb or Looper, you might also think about Francisco Cordero as a closer. He might be better than those other 2 guys.

Yahoo rankings blow. Never, eveer follow those for rankings. Tex is a must as a pick-up. Chacon is the closer in Colorado this year.
