I preach this, but I think that I need to disagree in this instance under a couple of circumstances. In leagues like this you generally get to keep the player for a long time .... maybe losing 2-3 rounds per year. CJ Wilson is good, but he is a SP after all. I would think that you could do pretty well drafting some decent starters in the mid/late rounds to replace CJ's production. Also, assuming you have a deep bench since you're keeping Harper in the 31st round. So stashing a player or two isn't a big deal. It would be different if it was someone like Bumgarner or Moore in round 16. It's CJ Wilson. I'm not giving up Harper for several seasons for CJ Wilson.
Each player can be kept a MAX of 2 years (no matter what team they are on). Neither of the players mentioned have been kept. So, this would be year 1. I can keep them again next year for year 2. They stay at that round (where they were originally drafted) each time they are kept. For the 2014 season, they go back into the draft pool.
I like the idea of having 2 full years of CJ Wilson or Billy Butler... not sure when Bryce is going to come up but I'm sure there will be an adjustment period in there. I don't know if 1+ Years of Bryce is better than 2 Years of Billy or CJ.
The counter-argument to all that is that Bryce is in the second-to-last round.
