Obviously it's Spring Training, but scouts professionally analyze players. Do their concerns make you leary of drafting Halladay 2nd after Kershaw? Does this move Lee, Verlander, Weaver, Hamels, Hernandez, Lincecum, or Sabathia ahead of him in your ranks?
Keep in mind, I mention this only because of the scouts. Of course I know he's Roy freaking Halladay

I'm no expert, but I am a Phils fan, and I've seen two seasons of Doc. The fact is, even if Doc's velocity dropped down to Moyer levels, he'd still be one of the best pitchers in baseball. He's such a smart pitcher with his location, his selection, and his breaking balls. Knowing how he's shown to know himself, he's probably just pacing. Like you said, he's Roy freaking Halladay. I wouldn't be worrying at all.
Still too early to worry. If he's still topping out at 89 by April I'd start to be worried. With that said, it does make me put Kershaw and Verlander ahead of him. Something to keep an eye on for sure. As much as I love Doc he has to start declining one of these years.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Not worrying at all? Thats a bit much for a pitcher of his age. Is he still one of the best? Yes, but in any kind of keeper league you have to be starting about when to cut bait on him.
“Never argue with a idiot, because first they will bring you down to their level. Then beat you with experience.”
If you believe Charlie Manuel, Jon Heyman just tweeted this:
"Regarding report of halladay not looking sharp and velo topping at 89, manuel said, 'he was just working on some stuff. He's fine'"
I'm not moving Halladay down in my projections yet, since I have some time before my next drafts. Hopefully it was just him tinkering. I'm making a mental note to check up on this though if it appears drafting him becomes a possibility.
News: A day after getting rocked for five runs and seven hits in less than three innings during Wednesday's Grapefruit League start, Philadelphia starting pitcher Roy Halladay quieted any speculation about a possible arm issue. "Yeah, I heard about that," Halladay told MLB.com on Thursday. "Poor reporting on the extreme end of poor reporting. It couldn’t be further from the truth." The veteran right-hander did acknowledge his velocity has decreased, but said he wasn't concerned. "Yeah, I’m 34 and 2,500 innings, it does take a while to get going," he said. “I don’t pay attention to that. The older you get, the more you throw, the longer it takes you to get yourself going."
I would be worried if he was a velocity only pitcher but he isn't so it isn't much of a concern. I'll never own a top end pitcher because they are all too risky but if I had to own one I'd still take Halladay out of the bunch.
Halladay seems pissed at this report. Now I guess he'll be more fired up to dominate. Chaulk up another Cy Young. Everyone hurry and move him up the boards past Cabrera at #1.
CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP)—Roy Halladay says he’s not injured and the two-time Cy Young Award winner criticized a report suggesting something may be wrong with him because he’s struggled in spring training.
Halladay got rocked for five runs and seven hits before getting yanked in the third inning of Philadelphia’s loss to Minnesota on Wednesday. A report later surfaced quoting two unidentified scouts expressing concern that Halladay’s velocity is down and his sharpness is off.
“Poor reporting on the extreme end of poor reporting,” Halladay said Thursday. “It couldn’t be further from the truth.”
Halladay, an eight-time All-Star, has a 10.56 ERA in three spring starts. He acknowledges his velocity is down, but isn’t worried because it’s still early.
