Made the easy decision of the first two in my four keeper league (Cabrera and Ellsbury), but still undecided on my final two. I could go for quality (Hamels and Haren), but Hamels seems to come a little (or a lot) expensive in round two. I was leaning towards an undervalued fourth, like Zimmerman, or Zobrist (how about them Z's).
Players (and rounds) below.
Miguel Cabrera (1) Matt Holliday (1) Cole Hamels (2) Derek Jeter (3) Jacoby Ellsbury (4) Dan Haren (5) Michael Young (6) Jonathan Papelbon (7) Brett Gardner (7) Shaun Marcum (7) Geovany Soto (8) Ben Zobrist (10) Madison Bumgarner (10) Andrew Bailey (11) Jeremy Hellickson (11) Colby Lewis (13) Bobby Abreu (14) Carlos Lee (15) Jordan Zimmermann (16) Justin Masterson (21) Ryan Vogelsong (21)
I think this requires a little networking on your part. In a 4 keeper league I don't love the idea of going into the draft keeping two pitchers unless their names are Kershaw, Halladay etc.
If you get a sense that alot of pitching is being kept, I would have no problem going with Zimmerman and Bumgarner. However, I think I would lean towards Zobrist and probably Bumgarner. Zobrist is an excellent value in the 10th and I think I want that extra bat.
So Bumgarner with a draft round of 10 is at about the spot he would be drafted now depending on how many teams are in the league. Zimmerman is about 7 rounds cheaper and Zobrist is about 5 rounds cheaper.
I think Bumgarner and Zimmermann are the best players and more likely to move up the draft board for next year where Zobrist is about as high as he is going to get and could easily take a step back.
