Cargo OR Hosmer + Lawrie (Auction)

As I have been creating an Auction plan I cannot help but see that according to Yahoo! the avg cost of Cargo or players of his tier are going for the $40-45 range.

Hosmer is currently sitting at $17 while Lawrie is around $20. This means you could pass on a 1st round bat to get both super hyped players.

This of course may not be how any individual draft pans out but still; I'd imagine it would be pretty close and you could likely land both for the price of a "Cargo".

What is the general consensus. would you lean more towards a Cargo type or is the sound of both Hosmer and Lawrie enough to make you pass on a top bat?

You're comparing an apple with two cherries. It entirely depends on the rest of your team and how the auction is going. There's no right or wrong answer to the "stars&scrubs vs balance" debate. I suppose I'd rather have Lawrie and Hosmer, but then you're blocking 2/3 of your CI spots which is something to consider if you have a bunch of cheap ones you want to target that are being under-valued. It'd also really suck to see CI start going really cheap and you have no place to put them. Whereas Cargo only blocks one of 5 OF spots and leaves a lot more flexibility. So long sotry short: it depends.

I'd definitely bid 25 a piece for them before I dropped 45 on Upton or Cargo, if that's what you're asking..
