I'm taking over a team in a 12-team, 6x6 (OPS & Pitcher Losses), H2H league. Everyone can keep up to 8, and if you keep fewer than 8, then you can start drafting earlier, etc. I kept only 1 player (Kershaw), and so I have a crack at some early picks.
For the most part, the top 6-8 players from each position are gone, so I have to take some risks for the long haul while also trying to stay competitive this year. I have 3 of the first 4 picks, then 4 of the first 6, and overall 8 of the first 21.
The following players are available - most teams kept their top hitters. How would you rank the below, or which would you rank as your top 6 or 7?
Bryce Harper (I'm definitely picking him right away, for the potential in coming years, or even for trade bait) Jesus Montero Freddie Freeman Paul Goldschmidt Billy Butler Kendrys Morales Brandon Phillips A-Rod Jimmy Rollins Aramis Ramirez Shin Soo Choo Brennan Boesch Nick Markakis Logan Morrison David Price Josh Johnson Yu Darvish Tommy Hanson

I'd be happy if I could end up with 8 of those guys. Draft them by ADP, making slight adjustments based on youth/upside. Don't sleep on ARod/Aram/Rollins/Phillips just because it's a keeper league.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

I'd try to grab a few good hitters but definitely grab one or two of those arms like Johnson and Price.
In no particular order, the guys that strike me are....
Jesus Montero Freddie Freeman Brandon Phillips Aramis Ramirez Nick Markakis David Price Yu Darvish Tommy Hanson
That gives you a lot of solid young players to build a team around (most of which should be strong contributors this year) and a few proven vets. And if by some chance you got all of these guys... you lock up C, 1b, 2b, 3b, an OF slot and you have a wicked rotation imo. I'm not as high on Harper as most, but yeah u could certainly add him to this list as well, if nothing else he could be good trade bait as you mentioned. Thnx for the help on mine.
