Who would you draft next? WHIR

Postby NittanyLions1 » Mon Mar 12, 2012 11:17 pm

12 Team H2H Keeper POINTS league (Keep 10 plus our 2 minor leaguers) and basically we count everything. We are in the first round of this years draft and I am 12th because I took the championship last year. I am on deck...WHO WOULD YOU DRAFT NEXT?? I am torn between a hitter or a relief pitcher. I would go RP only because the top ones put up a ton of points and I like to have 4 closers even though we count holds also...but I think there may be enough good RPs left to go hitter now? THANKS AND WHIR!

Werth would be 1st choice for me or take the less than popular pick in Bourne and wrap up steals. I would wait and go after a closer, next go around.

Yeah Werth and Bourn were the two I had really narrowed it down to at this point. So anyone want to vote for or argue more for either of them???

I'd probably go Madsen for your closer for your next pick after or consider Tommy Hanson if he's still on the board.

Thanks guys,

I ended up going with Werth over Bourn. I just looked at the point totals comparisons over the past few years in my settings and Werth with his bad year was 473 to Bourn's 586. In 2010 Werth was at 613 to Bourn at 483. And 2009 Werth was at 637 to Bourn's 559. I guess they are pretty even and looking again at it I maybe would have been safer going Bourn but oh well. Either should work I guess and I do think Werth will be better this year.

ANYHOO, I am going closer now....leaning towards Madson. Anybody think Santos, Bailey, Betancourt, Walden or Motte is the better way to go? What if Madson is gone...then who do you go with?

Really tempted to go Hanson but closers are getting thinner than starters imo and I already have 3 top starters

Madson
Santos
Walden
Bailey
Betancourt

is how I'd rank them.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Thanks SilverZ

So the last guy before me took Bailey. Everyone agree I go with Madson right?
