is he worth $21, or should i throw him back into the pool?

THROW HIM BACK!!!

He is gap hitter and Target Field is deep in the gaps, he will not hit 5 HR's at home this year, mark my words! I had season tickets opening season and it is one tough place to go long other than down the lines. His average will rebound for sure, but how many games??? I have heard 140-145, I think that could happen, but at the same time 130 would not surprise me either. This team is in rebuild mode and they are not going to risk to much with Joe.

Let someone else have him at $17 at your auction, I would not go higher than $12.

I like Mauer as a nice bounceback candidate, but you're not getting any value at $21. Even if he somehow ended up being that valuable (and he might be - AVG is very undervalued) he won't go for that much at auction.
