I honestly believe Scherzer is going to put his control problems behind him, and we're going to see a top 20 fantasy pitcher out of him this year. There's usually one or two who shock each year, so why not Mad Max?

I think for where they are going in drafts, I would rather go with Scherzer, Gio may end up having the better year but you're going to get better value for Scherzer.
*based on Yahoo rankings as they have Gio at 118 and Scherzer at 186. ESPN has their ADP much closer at 135 and 141

I like Max as well but he took a step backwards last year. He gave up a bunch more homeruns, had almost a run higher ERA, didn't strike out as many as in the 2010 season and doesn't go that deep into games. They are trying to get him to cut down on his fastball by 2-3 MPH so he can control it better. When he does that he shows improvement. Its not about chasing wins. Plus I think the Tiger bullpen faulters more this year. Their closer Valverde had a career season and was very lucky. He comes back to earth.
I like Gio going to the National league.
Gio is my choice without detailing it like I did with Schererzer
