I'm in a 12 team H2H Dynasty League, Normal 5x5 cats with added walks for hitters and K/BB for pitchers.
I am trying to get Jay Bruce from his owner and am thinking about offering up this trade, but I wonder if it's too much. I am VERY high on Bruce, he was the No. 1 prospect in 2008 and is improving every year. His ceiling seems through the roof.
I would give: Nelson Cruz OR Matt Holliday along with Jon Lester
For Jay Bruce
Here's my team:
My MLB Team: C. Alex Avila 1B. Miguel Cabrera 2B. Howard Kendrick 3B. Pablo Sandoval SS. Dee Gordon MI. Bonifacio CI. Paul Golfschmidt LF. Matt Holliday CF. Shane Victorino RF. Giancarlo Stanton OF. Nick Markakis OF. Nelson Cruz Util. Bryce Harper Bench. Ryan Howard
SP: Jon Lester Cliff Lee Zack Greinke Anibal Sanchez Ervin Santana Phil Hughes Chad Billingsley Ricky Nolasco
RP: Ryan Madson Brian Wilson Chris Peres Huston Street Matt Capps Brett Myers
I am super high on Bruce as well, but I think this is a bit too much. Either ask for another piece back in return or offer a closer instead of Lester in the deal.
I think your givin a bit much there. I like bruce for your team too so its close but lester is pretty damn good too and then you adding "just" a holliday or cruz there is payin pretty big i think. Unless you feel you can replace pitching, which sometimes I try to do to, then I could see it more. I jus feel the quality bat your adding to the good/great pitcher is overweighing it to his favor a tad much.
i prefer cruz slightly to bruce and holliday much more than bruce. i think both of those trades are pretty big overpays. yes he has big power, but unless he can cut down on his strike outs his average means he doesn't have that high of a fantasy ceiling.
