Drafting 5th in a 12 team 6x6 roto league that replaces avg for obp and has strikeouts- Without being positive it seems like my choices are going to be Braun/Bautista. My fingers are already itching to click draft now with Bautista's face on the left. Though I can't stop thinking about the 25 sb's I am most likely going to be giving up. Is it fair to say that with the ban behind him he is the MVP of last year and the guy who has consistantly become first round money in the bank or A-rod of last year? Thoughts.......

Have to think that the 4 owners in front of me will not be going for him-
Although I do agree that there is no signs of his skills deteriorating in the least. Having said that history also shows that no player comes back from steroid allegations in a positive direction. Seems they are always riddled with injuriers etc...
It's definitely not a bad choice either way but I am a creature of certainty. I can honestly say that Bautista is the smarter pick but I am leaning more towards the all around production from Braun. Albeit I do think his runs come down this year without fielder, but that's obvious.

I have the same dilemna as you do, I believe I will be getting Bautista or braun with the 5th pick, unless Tulowitzky goes ahead of them for some reason.
personally Im leaning towards bautista, but not very confident. 25 sbs is hard to pass up, but bautista could hit 20 more hrs than him. Will braun be effected by the steroid talk??? if you think yes, bautista is the safer pick, if not braun is your guy!

Last year I had fifth pick and did dual ss- Grabbed tulowitzki first and reyes in the second. Won the league and both were on the DL- The league was real strong, they just seemed confused by the move. Was going to do that this year but wanted to try a different strategy.. Just going to try and load up on runs and see if that transitions into everything else.. Plus OBP for Bautista could be 440 again... not probable but possible.. Even at 420 he trumps braun by like 70 points. In my league OBP has subbed AVG.

Braun and Bautista are pretty much a wash on Ks 105-110. The question is whether Bautista and his 8-10 more HRs and .030 more in OBP is worth the 15-18 SBs you will lose
