I have to keep two players in one of my leagues. I will surely keep Cano but am having a hell of a time deciding between Teixeira and Beltre. I'm leaning towards Beltre - thinner position; better avg. damage control on strikeouts and avg. Still, it is tough to sacrifice the likely 10 or more dingers, slightly more runs, etc. That being said, I imagine Mark's avg. will increase from last year despite the two previous seasonal trend. Also, I worry about Beltre's legs. Thoughts?
I don't know that it's necessarily as clear cut, but I think I would keep Tex. There's really no downside either way, and the upside of keeping Beltre in addition to positional scarcity would be getting a part of the two best offenses in the AL with your keepers. I wouldn't count on the avg coming back, but the power and run production should be fine.
Surprised everyone is saying Tex...I'd keep Beltre all day. I think he'll put similar numbers with a much, much better average, not to mention the better position.

yes beltre has the better average, but tex outproduces him elsewhere by quite a bit. also it's pretty much a given that you have to deal with him missing some a mount of time to injury during the season. give me the safer pick in teixeira.

It's worth noting that it's Tex that has the higher career avg. It's only in the past couple years that Beltre's had the edge in that category. And yes, you do weight the recent past, but it's not like Teixeria is a career .260 hitter.
