those are some weird categories. sounds like some traditionalists and stat-guys squared off and fought to a draw. I don't know who Tony Campana is, but he is a stud in this format.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, you're in trouble on saves. I love Clippard, but in a league where most of teams are probably rostering 2-3 closers, it's a waste. League isn't the top tier either. See if you can't drop Nova or Hughes for some other lower tier closer that may be on the WW-Betancourt? Pestano even?

Also, a catcher at UT isn't going to fly at all, especially in H2H. Crawford's not going to be ready by opening day, Cespedes/Harper are anyone's guess to make their rosters (I lean Cespedes in terms of likelihood), so KJ it is. Hopefully you haven't dropped him yet. Toronto is extremely friendly for lefty's, and he could easily hit you 25. Murphy could be useful too. Right now, everyone is in BSOHL anyway. Use the waiver priority on a closer.

Finally, this NSB category kind of intrigued me, so I checked Fangraphs and ESPN and didn't see anything, but CBS lets you do custom reports with all sorts of goofy categories. Here are all the speed guys from last year who stole more than 20, ranked by SBPCT. Sorry about the formatting.

Yeah...I had a feeling when that run on closers happened...it could be a problem.

Betancort is gone...Pestano is available...but know nothing about him...

here is best available closers and possible fill in closers...

I could gamble on Juan Carlos Oviedo (formerly know as Leo Nunez) getting his Visa from the US at some point during this season....but we all know how the US loves people who lie about their identity when obtaining ID and coming into this country. So it is possible he is out all season...and even if Uncle Sam does not make an example of him...MLB will likely suspend him once he is back anyway.

Grant Balfour
Sergio Romo
Fernando Salas
Mike Adams
FRod
Kevin Gregg
Mark Melancon
Brian Fuentes
Jon Rauch

IS it really worth dropping a SP now who could have a resurgence and allow me to move a SP or two later in the season? especially when the options are so s#!tty?

Also, is it safe to let Escobar go...when I have no qualifying players at that position on the bench? What do I do if Jete misses a few weeks like he does most years lately?

after Escobar...SS quality drops significantly....

Yunel Escobar
Alcides Escobar
Marco Scutaro
Jed Lowrie
Mike Aviles
Jason Barlett
Alex Gonzalez

Well I think you don't want to punt a category each week in H2H. Or roto for that matter. Here are your options at this point: Oakland is having an open competition for closer. It's between Balfour, De Los Santos, and Fuentes. So you could just monitor that situation, and grab the winner. Pestano and Romo are your next best options, as Perez and Wilson are shutdown and behind respectively in CLE and SF. After that, it's setup guys waiting for the inevitable implosion.

Hughes seems like the most likely drop to me-Nova is assured of a spot, and Hughes could be relegated to the bullpen. On the other hand, there is some scary injury news coming out on Carpenter; they could either shut him down (my guess) or have what I'm guessing would be season-ending surgery on his neck.

If it were me, and it's not a keeper league, I'd see what I could get for Harper. It just doesn't make any sense for the Nats to start him, and before that decision is made you might find someone willing to overpay.

So one of the owners in my league has Russel Martin as his starting catcher...and has 5 relief pitchers including Craig Kimbrel, Jonathan Papelbon, John Axford, Brian Wilson and NEftali Feliz (who will likely not be a RP come opening day). But they have two pitchers that are taking up spots on their bench...so they are really hurting for depth.

You think Yadier Molina for one of his closers? should I add other players?

their full roster....

C- Russell Martin
1B - Paul Goldschmidt
2B - Brandon Phillips
SS - Alexi Ramirez
3B - Ryan Zimmerman
OF - Justin Upton
OF - CarGo
OF - Josh Hamilton
UT - Cory Hart
BN - Jeff Francoeur
BN - Mark Trumbo
BN - Brennan Boesch

SP - Jordan Zimmerman
SP - Ervin Santana
RP - Craig Kimbrel
RP - Jonathan Papelbon
P - John Axford
P - Brian Wilson
P - Neftali Feliz
P - Jhoulys Chacin
BN - Chad Billingsley
BN - Drew Pomeranz

Thanks in advance!

you might try Molina and Jeter (a BA package) for Ramirez and Axford. or if the health reports on Carpenter come back not terrible, but not great either, see if you can ship him off for Papelbon. It's tough to trade Catchers, because they just don't contribute as much playing time.

OK...Traded for Axford, and picked up Soriano and dropped Murphy.

Had to send Yadier and Clippard....for Axford and Russell.

So do I still drop one of the following for Myers who is still available?

Russell Martin
Alfonso Soriano
Bryce Harper

It's a redraft league, right? Non-Keeper? You asked about Escobar, but I don't see an Escobar on your original roster?
I don't think Martin is worth a bench spot. Myers could be a nice pick up, and he certainly has the job.

first time league....non keeper.

I decided against Escobar after some comments here and some additional reading about him and KJ. But he is still available.

Thanks!
