Standard 12 team 5x5 H2H League. How's the team look?
C- Matt Weiters 1B- Adrian Gonzalez 2B- Ian Kinsler SS- Marco Scutaro 3B- Brett Lawrie OF- Josh Hamilton OF- Brennan Boesch OF- Cameron Maybin UT- Mark Renyolds Bench: Adam Dunn, Alex Presley, Yonder Alonzo
SP: Yovanni Gallardo, Madison Bumgarner, James Shileds, Jeremy Helickson, Johan Santana, Francisco Liriano, Daniel Bard RP: Ryan Madson, Sergio Santos, Brandon League, Javy Guerra
If Santana, Liriano, and Dunn perform anywhere near what the can, this league is in trouble. I got them so late that if they blow I can drop them and still have a good team.
Great hitting, I like the chances you took on closers. The starting rotation has definite potential to blow up and be really good but without a front line ace pay attention to the waiver wire and rotate your last 3-4 starters as the year shapes up
Solid team. Solid all around I dont really see a hole that you need to fill.
Keep C Napoli 1 Butler/Davis/Hosmer/Dunn 2 Young/Utley/Zobrist 3 Moustakas SS Bonifacio/E Cabrera OF Grandy/Choo/Reddick/Kubel SP Anderson/C Lee/Oswalt Haren/Moore/A Sanchez RP Soriano/Myers/Johnson/Aceves/Parnell
Not bad. You have punted BA with Renyolds and Maybin. I would be worried about Hellickson and more so Liriano. If you can trade Hellickson, I would do it. I had him last year and of course he did well. Last year his K rate was low and did not support his whip and his BHIP% was way to lucky.
I'd be ready to pull the trigger pretty quick on Dunn, Santana, and Liriano. I'm all for taking late risks in the draft (all three have the potential to be high reward for what you likely paid), but don't get attached. Especially if Reynolds starts the year like he did last year, you don't want to be stuck with too much dead weight dragging you down.
Keep an eye on the waiver wire for those guys who emerge in April/May.
The only real weakness I would see is BA. I think in a 12 team league your pitching will be fine Gallardo, Bumgarner and Shields should pitch well enough most weeks to keep you very competitive.
I would also not be married to Dunn, Santana or Liriano. If they start off hot look to move them, if they start off slow, don't hesitate to cut them. Individually, I think they all have the chance to bounce back, especially Santana, but I don't want to own all three on my team.
