Dynasty Trade WHIR

Postby justin5107 » Sat Mar 10, 2012 1:58 am

Ok this is a 15 team 4x4 league (no r's or k's), auction type league with a $100 cap, here is the trade:

My
Chris Young ($4 with 1 year left on current contract)
Brett Lawrie ($4 with 2 years left on current contract)

For his
Desmond Jennings ($4 with 2 years left on contract)
Brandon Beachy ($0.50 with 2 years left on contract)

my team is pretty stacked this year and should make a run at first, hitting is set for sure as young would be my 5th outfielder (no bench in this league so he would go to UT)

and players can be extended for 2 more years but their price goes up

i think i'd make it in a normal 5x5, but jennings in a no runs league loses significant value and beachy in a no Ks league loses significant value.

GiantsFan is spot on for this one. No K's and Beachy will be North of 200. This is real close. Basing it on a $100 v. standard $260, Beachy is a $1.30 player and Lawrie and Young are $10. I'm not real sure, you really won't make a bad call either way. Gun to head...........No trade.

3rd base is pretty shallow, you arent holding Beltre too are you? if not I think lawrie is a pretty hot commodity...

Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong

thanks for the responses, i'll give you guys some more info.

the reason i was considering this is because my hitting is loaded and i currently only have j zimmerman and pineda as starters (tons of stud sp's in the auction though) and this would give me a little bit more money to throw around. i offered cy for beachy straight up and this was the counter offer. i would have to draft a 3b if this is accepted as well but i have trumbo to take that spot when he gains eligibility i suppose

Agreed. Their value takes a hit without r and ks. I also like Lawrie.

;-D this also increases the value of both Young and Lawrie who give you HR and SB.
