Help with Keepers and draft strategy?? WHIR

I'm in a 5x5 h2h 12 team keeper league, my team is below! We keep 7. 5 anywhere, 1 pitcher and 1 rookie.

Until recently I was going into draft day planning to punt HR and RBI ..... but some members here enlightened me to the fact that that was a stupid idea haha.

With that strategy in mine, i was keeping:

Matt Kemp
Jacoby Ellsbury
Hanley Ramirez
Brett Gardner

Desmond Jennings

Tim Lincecum
Roy Halladay

the only question marks are Jennings and Gardner. Jennings is my rookie keeper (the league has odd rookie elgibility), my other options here are Lonnie Chisenhall or Jemile Weekes.

I was only taking Gardner for his R and SB, should I still keep him or someone else like: Weekes, Chisenhall, Freese, Bonifacio, Madson etc.

Also, what draft strategy would you use here? What would you go after first?

I have the 8th overall pick, and two picks in the 2nd round (2nd & 5th)

Id keep Daniel Hudson instead of Gardner, you look pretty set on steals with those first 4 position player keepers (including Jennings). As for the draft strategy your priorities are landing a stud 1st baseman, a top closer/2, and filling in the rest of your IF/OF/SP. As for the drafting its really dependent on who's being kept/unavailable.

I'd still keep jennings and gardner. just draft power and you can trade some speed after the draft or later in the season.

Jennings for sure. I would go with Hudson over Gardner though. A good SP is way more valuable than a SB only guy in a H2H format.

I'm in the Hudson over Gardner crowd. It's close in theory, but there's just not much upside to a SB only guy and a ton of downside to him. I'd take the pitcher here.
