Just wondering what the consensus feels about this guy in 2012. He's solid for sure but can he take another step forward and jump up a tier in terms of fantasy outfielders? Or is this as good as it gets?
How does he compare currently to those within his tier (Morse, Gordon, Choo, Jennings, etc.)

I think what we saw last year is what we're going to get from him going forward. Not spectacular but .280 25-10 players hold solid value. I would say he's a much safer bet than the others in his tier, but he lacks the upside. Four seasons in a row with 500+ AB, last two with 600+ AB. His walk and strikeout rates have held pretty steady over his career without any consistent improvement. Same thing with his line drive and flyball %. The OriLOLs lineup really hurts his run/RBI potential.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

There is no specific reason to expect a breakout but he is one of those guys who could be a surprise breakout. His OPS+ has increased every year in the majors, he just completed his 2nd full season following 2 partial seasons and he is still only 26. His power improved last year but it was partially hidden by a dip in FB%. If he can start to elevate the ball more and combine last years power with 2010's FB% he could be a 30/15 guy. The biggest challenge is his plate discipline though, to really make a large step forward he has to learn to take a walk. I wouldn't pay for a breakout but I do like Jones quite a bit.

He needs to talk to Ryan Braun about getting his power up. But seriously, considering the division and the lineup jones' production isn't going to substantially increase from '11.
