Stumped with my draft pick---WHIR

Postby kslates » Fri Mar 09, 2012 9:52 am

I'm looking to trade back but if I can't who should I take? It seems like there are a lot of guys that are pretty equal. I have 2 of the next 8 picks.

Nobody needs a catcher so I am waiting until my last pick to take one.

Guys available:

1B-Gaby, Ike, Trumbo
2B-Kipnis, Walker
SS-Alexei, Hardy, Jeter, Peralta, Aybar
OF-Beltran, Morrison, Ethier, Swisher, Melky, Rios, Rasmus
SP-J. Garcia, Baker, C. Lewis, McCarthy, Stauffer, Minor, Norris
RP-Farnsworth, Street, League, Santos, Jansen

10 team, H2H, 5x5 Mixed League
OBP, R, HR, RBI, SB, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP
2 UTIL spots, 3 SP, 2 RP and 2 P
Keep 10 MLB and 8 prospects. Lose round that player was drafted in previous draft.
Round drafted x years remaining is in parenthesis. N/A=contract expires after this year
My current projected 10 keepers are in red

C-
1B Fielder (rd 1 x 2 yrs)
2B Phillips (rd 4 x 3 yrs)
3B Lawrie (rd 16 x 3 yrs)
SS Tulowitzki N/A
OF Upton N/A
OF Bautista (rd 17 x 1 yrs)
OF Braun N/A
UT Stubbs (rd 3 x 2 yrs)
UT Reynolds N/A
BN Belt (rd 13 x 4 yrs)

SP Shields (rd 7 x 1 yrs), Sanchez (rd 15 x 2 yrs), Gallardo N/A, Lincecum N/A, Chacin (rd 18 x 2 yrs), F. Hernandez(rd 2 x 3 yrs),
RP Madson N/A, B. Wilson N/A

Prospects--Alonso

Nice team by the way! I would probably go with the best hitter available and to me that is either Kipnis or Morrison. I would probably take a chance on Kipnis to back up Phillips.

please help

Seems like the perfect spot to take another SP or Closer. No big hurry to select a C. Your starters are in place and no need to fill the bench just yet.

Cespedes is available too. May take him with a later pick to try and steal a keeper.

I still say go with a big bat but if you want an arm go with another closer. Thanks for your help with mine.

I would probably take Garcia. I like him more than any of those other starters so I would grab him and then look to grab one of Beltran or Morrison.

Brandon League, Jaime Garcia, Logan Morrison or Jason Kipnis depending on how many OF/UTl/MI/SP/RP you use.

I would go with Santos or Garcia. Depends how long you think you can get away waiting to select a 3rd closer.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
