Wandy and Nolasco for Price in Auction Keeper?(WHIR)

Points league which favors streaming pitching so the most solid arms I can get the better! Can keep as many players as we want per year. 310 dollar cap. 24 man rosters. In the middle of our slow auction draft now.

I have been offered Wandy Rodriguez(15) and Ricky Nolasco(12) for my David Price(37). This would give me an extra arm and10 mor dollars to spend in the draft. Should I do it?

Price is way overpriced at $37.
However, the stats you lose in downgrade.
I might do it, simply because of the $37 price on Price.

I agree that Price is overpriced but if you say the points favor streaming pitching I would do it. Plus you have $10 more for a good hitter

What would you think Price would go for at auction? $37 seems high but if teams over pay for top starters, then do it. If not then i wouldn't keep any of them.

I'd lean towards doing it just because of Price's price tag. Use the extra cash to help get another good bat.

To answer your question Maudib, Price would probably go for about 37 bucks at the auction too. Everyone overvalues arms in this league. For example, Alexei Ramirez went for 11 dollars and Scott Baker went for 12! So, should I take the deal?

If that is the case I would probably hold onto Price. I think he has the potential to exceed what he has done so far. Maybe even finish as a top 5 SP if luck swings a bit in his favor.

Wandy Rodriquez at $15 looks reasonable. A reliable SP with a decent price tag. I really don't like Ricky Nolasco at $12 though. He hasn't delivered for years now and unless he improves I don't think he is worth owning. As is, he is going to bring down Rodriguez's stats...

It looks like a case of Price's upside vs. Nolasco's upside + $10. From the sound of things, it doesn't seem like you would be able to land an impact arm with $10. The extra money certainly gives you help in winning bids you may not have otherwise won. That said, I'd probably still keep Price. Especially if there is a premium on top end SP.

I will say that if Nolasco was subbed out for someone else, I would consider the deal.

Well, just to give you a little more insight, Hughes is now going for 12 dollars and Liriano is up to 10! No impact pitchers are still available just end of or middle of rotation are left. But, last year the guys that made the playoffs and won had a ton of arms and I was stuck with an awesome offense finishing 10th.:( So, really the more quality arms the better with a half decent offense wins you this league. It sucks I know, but kinda fun too. I do think I need one ace at least but it is tempting to do this deal. He also has Chacin at 12 and Anibal at 6 but I am not sure he would move those guys. Should I try?

Keep Price then. He is the better pitcher and I don't trust Wandy or Ricky.
