Keeper league with snake draft. Value help

Were trying to do a snake draft for at the end of each season. We started with an auction and it is easy to determine the values for all of those guys. Were having trouble figuring out how to value people taken in the snake draft.

My possible ideas (please give other ideas if you have them)

1) Have a ranking system with a value for each grouping
2) Have the value be dependent on the round they are drafted
3) Use a recommended auction value from a site such as ESPN or Yahoo

An Auction is fun and you should decide your value that way. There is no way to "Sneek" by a player at a good value using some chart. If you are determined to use something other than an auction, then use a player value from some site, your number 3.

An auction is just one way to determine a players value. If you prefer a snake draft system, then an auction value system is not applicable.

The answer is (2). Do it by round drafted. It's an awesome system. Brings in the same ideas of "value" as does an auction system.Thats specific to your league, not a chart off of yahoo or espn.

If you are going to use a system where, for example, a first round pick has a salary of 30 and a second round pick 25, why even bother to assign values. Just do a snake draft and be done with it.

Not assigning salary as draft value. The draft round is the value.

Why? Some people want to do a snake draft but still assign value to their keepers. It's pretty common. I take Pujolz in Round 1. If I keep him next year, I don't get a first round pick. Thats his value.

Salary is only for auction drafts.
