Hey All - I am in a 5x5 mixed keeper league. Keep up to 5 players but they go up $3 each year. Trying to balanace between winning this year and setting up for future a bit
I need your help and will return the favor - just put a link in your response!!
I am choosing between:
$7 Ian Kennedy
$10 Matt Moore
$7 Michael Morse
$5 D. Ortiz
I keep going back and forth but seem pretty set on Ellsbury, Shields and Strasburg.
I keep making arguments for the others:
Pro Ortiz: $5!! Clearly he'll outdo that if healthy - perhaps best value
Con Ortiz: Stuck in my UTIL spot; How much longer does he have? Might be only other year other year I would keep him
Pro Morse: $7 - great value here. Even with possible Avg. regression power likely remains. Also has dual eligibility
Con Morse: How high is his ceiling for future years? Could he have been flash in pan?
Pro: M. Moore: $10 isn't cheap but likely as cheap as hell ever go if he lives up to expectations, and I'll enjoy him both at $13 next year and $16 in 2014 before I even begin to wonder if his value has evened out. He also has most upside of these remaining guys
Con M. Moore: Clearly a rookie so who the hell knows; AL East. Just how much more might he cost if I dropped him and tried to rebuy him at auction
Pro Kennedy: So solid. Even with regression, likely to far surpass $7. still may have upside and is young for future years at controlled cost
Con Kennedy: no real con but does he weigh out better than other possibilities, some regression possible
At one point I thought
That's 1/2 a pitching staff of 2's or at worst 3s for $28! I could buy one high priced guy and practically be done there
More recently, the $7 Morse and $5 Ortiz have me thinking a bit.
With which 5 guys would you net out with thinking about both winning this year and setting up for future?
A-Rod is a little B*tch
